Jobs of the Future
Let us introduce ourselves
What is it? It is a scientific dissemination website that studies the impact of new technologies on the world of work. Changes today are very fast and exponential. Professions are not something static, but very dynamic, so the ongoing evolutions can either extinguish, transform, or give rise to completely new ones. What skills will be necessary to face all of this? Upskilling and Reskilling, but not only.
Why? After 25 years of research, I have realized that to go beyond boundaries, numbers alone are not enough. Traditional approaches are outdated and tied to the old way of conducting research. Today, we need to study the weak signals that are right in front of us, which we look at but don’t truly see. Focusing on these signals and imagining multiple possible futures will be the task of Frontiere. Traditional sources respond in real time, but they only capture the present. However, today there is a need to make predictions at least five years ahead, without neglecting the past and without forgetting that every topic we address has a story to consider.
Who is it for? It’s too easy to make long-term predictions that cannot be verified. I am convinced that the world of research needs immediate interaction both with the world of education and guidance and with young people, who risk studying for professions that will no longer exist in a few years. We will be here to exchange opinions with those who are undecided, disoriented, or those who intend to start over. To young people, I say that in the world of work, there is an upper world and a lower world. A world of those who program the algorithms (few and well-paid) and those who work for the algorithms (many and poorly paid), and it’s important to understand what to do to escape a labor market that risks condemning young people to 1,000 euros a month for their entire lives.
How will it be? Each topic will be addressed with concise publications, focusing heavily on the aspect of temporal depth. The publications will be accompanied by short videos that will get straight to the point. There will be a chat open to young people on the topics of future work scenarios, the profiles these will require, and the necessary skills.
Jobs Reloaded
Jobs Reloaded is the section of frontieretecnologialavoro.com dedicated to “recharging” work toward the future, exploring how new technologies are transforming markets, professions, and skills.
Two formats, for different needs:
• Audio Podcast – In-Depth Episodes
Extended episodes that increase the temporal depth of analysis, going beyond immediate news. These are in-depth discussions born from the blog, curated by Massimo Tamiatti, coordinated by Benjamin Dafu and Fabio Prettico, with sound design and editing by Federico Giacobino, and interviews by Ivan Giacobino and Roberta Scarpa.
• Future Capsules – with Max & Ailyn
Micro-capsules dedicated to exploring the future of work through short dialogues between Max and Ailyn, an artificial intelligence designed to discuss emerging technologies, scenarios, and weak signals.
Each Capsule condenses, in just a few minutes, a structured exchange between human perspective and computational capability: Max brings questions and viewpoints from research on work, while Ailyn contributes a rapid and systematic reading of trends, data, and innovations. The result is a fast but dense conversation, designed for those with limited time who still want to stay updated on innovations and their concrete implications for people, organizations, and territories.
The topics are always connected to the implications for work, professions, and skills, maintaining the site’s characteristic approach: anticipatory analysis, attention to weak signals, and strong focus on governance, rights, and the role of institutions.
